HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING AT CROFTON.

The meeting of householders of the JCrofton and Marton Junction Schools*was largely abont eighty householders attended. Mr Wm. Oldfield presided, and coudnc* ted the proceedings in an impartial manner. A motion was moved that a new school be built on a central site at the Junction, and an amendment by Mr G. Stafford and Mr .Lammerton, that the school remain on its present site, and that the Board be asked to enlarge the school. The amendment was carried by 45 to 28. The subject gave rise to a good deal of discussiop, and it was cons! dered to be the best public meeting that has ever been held in Crofton.
