The Daily News says.the enemy’s surrender of forward.positions west of Bapaume may foreshadow an extensive ■withdrawal, because the po-
sitions are immensely strong. It recalls the German witndrawal from these points in 1917, winch was preceded|by the evacuation of Bapaume and Peroune. But there is one important difference, namely, that in 1917w T e held Albert.
