RAPIDITY QF GERMAN 'RETREAT Loudon,' July 1, The Morning Post says the •fighting at Nieppe Forest was a defeat for Bernhardi’s troops, English and Australians attacked ■ the Forty-fourth Prussian reserve division, and gthe. Thirt3'-second Saxon division, at 9 in the morning and thoroughly defeated them. The Germans had pushed their artilietry within a few hundred yardsoj the fron trenches so that the crews were unable to re, move the guns or “cany away breech blocks. Bpnrhardi’s tried uafntr}' made no effort to rehover the hamlets of Repmettes, Vere Rue or Becque, which we stormed.
