PARENTS and Guardians of •*- young persons between the ages of 14 and 17 years, who have left school, and employers in whose employ such young persons may bo, are required to send, not later than Slh MARCH, 1018, to the Director of the Marton Technical School, the names and addresses (private or place of employment, as the case may be) of all such young persons. Commencing with the 4th March, 1918, such young persons are required to attend Continuation Classes at the Technical School; the girls for not less than four hours on one afternoon, or two hours on two evenings per week, and the boys for not more than five hours in each week during the school year, the hours of attendance to be arranged with the Director of the Technical School.

Under the provision of the Education Act, 1914, if any person knowingly employs a young person at any time (other than the ordinary hours of employment) when his attendance is by Regulation required at a Continuation or Technical Class, he shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £2, and not less than ss, or in the case of spcond subsequent offence, whether relating to the same or another young person, not exceeding £5. Any parent of a young person who does not regularly attend a Technical School or a class or classes, as required by Regulations, is liable to the like penalties as aforesaid. Notices of enrolment should be forwarded to the Director of the Technical School without delay, and all young persons referred to in the above must present themselves at the school on or before 4th March. 1918, for enrolment. The names of those who fail to enrol by 9th March, 1918, will be handed to the Truant Officer without further warning than this advertisement. W. H. SWANGER, ' Secretary. 2(!th February, 1918.
