STOCK REPORT. Dalgety and 00., Ltd., report : "We held'onr annual Sheep Fair at Palmerston North on February 38th. We yarded about 8000 sheep, and there being a small attendance of buyers bidding was not very keen throughout, but most of the lines offered changed hands at satisfactory prices to vendors. Quotations: —2th ewes small 20s to 2Gs, 3 and 4th ewes small 255, 4 and oyr ewes 17s to 30s Gd, cull ewes 4s to 4s (Id 2th wethers 24s lOd to v 2Gs, forward 4th wethers 32s 3d, rape;lambs 14s to Its 9d, small lambs 7s Id, 2th Romney rams 2gs. 'Dalgety and Co." Ltd., report—; We held our usual stock sale at Wanganui. Wo submitted a very big yarding of sheep to a good attendance of buyers. Competition Wfis fairly brisk, and with the exception of a few pens the whole of the yarding changed hands. Prices for breeding ewes, with the exception of special lines, showed a slight drop on lute sales., 2th wethers were keenly competed for and sold in vendor’s favour. Lambs_ were also in good demand and' showed a slight rise on late rates. We quote:—2th ewes 30s, 4th ewes 30s to 33s Gd, 4 and syr ewes 22s Id to 25s 4d, cull ewes (is to lls . Loan and Mercantile [report:— At Palmerston North on Thursday we held our annual Ewe Pair, when between 8000 and 0000 were yarded. A large proportion of the entry w r as comprised' of low conditioned and aged ewes which wore not in demand, and made relatively low prices. Any good ewes sold well. Quotations: —Good 2th ewes 2,’s to 28s 9d, 4 and Syr - ewes 25s Sd, aged ewes IBs to ISs 3d, 2th wethers small 25s Id, fat and forward lamhs 37s Od, small mixed lamhs 8s Od to 11s, S.E. rams £2 2s, 2th Romney rams £8 Bs, 2th Lincoln rams £8 3s. Loan and Merchantile report;—At Rongotea on Wednesday we had a fair yarding of stock. The attendance was not large hut competition was fairly good and the hulk of the entry was sold at late rates. At Feilding on Friday a heavy yarding came forward, the bulk of the entry heing'quitted at very satisfactory prices. Abraham and Williams, report: —At the Palmerston Korth Sheep fair on the 28th ultimo, wo had a good entry of sheep of mostly medium quality. There was a clearance at good demand for ail classes and we had practically a total clearance at prices which wore in favour of the vendors. Aged forward ewes brought 24s 2d, f.m. Romney ewes 28s lOd, 4 and syr ewes 28s 2d to 28s fid, f.m. ewes 19s Id to 22s (Id, medium 2th ewes 27s 3d to 29s 2d, shorn lambs las (id, small woolly lambs 11s 3d, small shorn lambs 10s 4cl to 1 Is, cull lambs (is to 8s 9a, pure bred Romney 2th ewes 4 gainers, 2th Romney rams, medium quality 5 to (i guineas. At j.'eildlng On the Ist inst we had a heavy yarding of sheep and a moderate entry of cattle. The sheep included a largo proportion of aged and inferior ewes. Good breeding ewe?, wethers and young sheep sold well and practically all linos changed hands. There was a fair enquiry for cat'tle,most of which were disposed of. 4th store wethers brought 84s, 2fch wethers 28s (5d to 29s Gd, cull ditto 15s 9d, 4 and 6th bush wethers 29s Id, 4yr breeding ewes,, good 29s to 3ls Gd, f.m.
