THE ROUMANIA PEACE NEGOTIATIONS
SAID TO BE RUPTURED. ROUMANIA NOT TO BE COERCED. Amsterdam, March 1. A Berlin telegram states: Count Czernin has demanded that the King of Roumnnia shall abdicate in favour of his brother, Prince William, or else take a referendum of the Roumanians regarding the succession to the throne. London, March 1, Austrian and German newspapers report that the negotiation between the Central Powers and Rouinauia have been ruptured. Roumania resists the extortionate demands. Copenhagen, March 1. It Jis officially announced from Jassy that developments on the East front have caused the Roumanian Government to consider the possibility of entering peace negotiations which will not be begun until the Government receives assurance that terms will be .acceptable in every respect. Rumours of peace on any terms are unfounded.
