KUNTERVILLE NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. There was considerable activity in town on Tuesday last, Sale Bay, and the Red •‘’Cross Shop again did good business under the control of mesdsmes Bartborp, Morton, Rhodes and -Misses Baber and Simpstm. The amount taken was £6l Os Bd, makiug a total of £134 18s lOd for the month of February, which was eminently satisfactory. During the month of March the Red Cross Shop will bo managed by the Fukerou and Fohonui ladies. On the next sale (.lay, Tuesday, 13th March, afternoon tea will be provided in the Argyle Hall from 2 o’clock, so that all who wish to partake of u enp that refreshes but does not inebriate, may have the pleasure of doing so* and will, at the same time, be helping to swell the Red Cross funds. ,
Sympathy will be extended to Miami Mrs Tom Chisholm and family, who have received word that Trooper Colin Chisholm was wounded, in Palestine, on the 20th inst. Two teams of Maugaweka bowlers visited Huuterville on Wednesday afternoon. It was an ideal day on the green, the local proved to be the winners, tho scores being— Maugaweka: Harris, Munro, Gascoigne and Haclfield skip 15. Huuterville: J. Hill, P. R. Earle, Greenwood, and Clark skip 22. Maugaweka; Peed, Johnston, Myers ami Satchell skip 14. Uuutorville: A. Wilson, L. F. Thompson, Rev. Evans and F. J. Petherick skip 37.
