THE WHEAT-SHORTAGE.

Per Press Association. Mastorton, Feh. 7. A Wairarapa deputation waited upon the Lon. W. D. S. MacDonald, Minister of Agriculture, yesterday in reference to wheat sacks and storage of wheat. The Minister stated that instructions were to be given to millers that they must purchase the maximum amount of wheat required for the season, and arrange their own storage. For any wheat left on the hands of farmers over and above that required by millers, tho Government was quite prepared to p?y up to a halfpenny per bushel per month for storage. Mr MacDonald expressed tiro opinion that the increased price received by farmers for late wheat would more than compensate them for storage losses. The Minister promised to go into the question of sacks and telegraph the result of his investigation.
