Rescue parties saved many families, ell attempts to communicate with Marlborough and St. Lawrence have failed. THE DAMAGE AT MACKAY. 120 CASUALTIES. Received Jan. 31, 10 a.m. Brisbane, Jan. 31. The damage at Mackay is estimated at £I,OOO, 00. The total casualties are 120, including twenty' deaths. At least 12,000 tors of sugar was lost.
