SALE OF KARAMU THOROUGHBREDS. Hastings, Jan. 2S. Tho Kara am Stud dispersal sale opened to-day. There was a, largo attendance of buyers and satisfactory prices wore realised. In brood marcs five highest price obtained was COO guineas for Straga, who was purch sed by W. Cooper, Masterton. The next highest was for Sinvis, purchased by F. Dimond for 150 guineas. In stallions, King Mark, purchased by J. Ormond, fetched 400 guineas. Hymettus sold for 335 guineas to W. Cooper, Mastertou, and Birkvale was purchased by H. A. Russell, of Hastings, for 150 guineas. A bay gelding six years old was purchased by H. M. Campbell for 300 guineas, and a bay mare four years old was purchased by Mr Higgins for 140 guineas. Tbe bay gelding Aldwych, which realised 170 guineas, was purchased by Mr McLaughlin. A filly by Demosthenes—Temouue brought IGS guineas and was purchased by T. H. Barracq. A two yen-old filly by Demosthenes— Marty fetched 180 guineas and was purchased by W. J. Douglas. Tbe top price in ye udings was a Hymettus—Straga filly purchased at 400 guineas by A. McDonald, of Masterton, This filly is a full sister to Hymestra and Torfreda.
