A RAGING CYCLONE.
ATTACKS FROM ALL POINTS. AIROKAV IN RUINS. Received Jan. 29, 11 a. in, Brisbane, Jan. 29. Muttaburra township is flooded, cutting off all communication with Northern Queensland. ‘ The Mucdcuy Standard of 2Gth states that a break--of tlie fine weather occurred on the 4th, when a cyclone struck the town. On the 19th it was blowing from the south, later from the east, and thou from the north, to which was due the great extent of damage. - The main portion of the town is in ruins, scarcely one building escaping. Ths cyclone continued r with unabated force for fourteen hours, the rainfall for the eighteen days being nearly four feet. So far uineetenfcbodies have been recovered. It is understood -that Townsville escaped i damage and the coastal shipping services are now becoming normal.
