AOT VIOLENTLY CONDEMNED.
PROLETARIAT AND STRIKERS AGREE. Amsterdam, Jan. 25. Yorwaerts reports that Herr Ibert, in addressing the Reichstag Main Committee, violently condemned the suppression of the paper for criticising Hoffman aud reporting a general strike of which all the world was aware. Ibert, in an address, said the German proletariat sainted the strikers. Labour must convince the German workers where necessary, to use their power to combat fnlly all efforts designed to prevent an early peace except based on concilliation and right. Amsterdam, Jan. 25. § Ibert added: “The German proletariet salute the strikers ! New York, Jan. 27. A United Press telegram from Rome reports that the Vatican regards Count Ozernin’s speech as a positive step towards peace.
PUNISHMENT OF GERMAN INVALID SOLDIERS. WHO BROKE UP A MEETING. Zurich, Jan. 27. Two hundred invalided soldiers, who interrupted a Fatherland party’s meeting at Berlin have been arrested, the news of the arrest caused indignation in the garrison, Culminating in a meeting at Friedrikhsdorf, near Berlin. As a result eight thousand are confined to barracks and the ringleaders imprisoned
