EXEMPTION OF TEACHERS.
FROM MILITARY SERVICE. Per Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 24. The Wellington Educ tion Board m de application to tho Military Board to-day for tho exemption of three teachers. The case of one in an unusual position disclosed that the teacher, Sergt Duncan, had enlisted, gone to the front, bo came unfit--and was now doing clerical work in London. The Education Board requested that' in view of tho shortage of teachers lie be brought back and given leave to take up teaching . work again. ' As it is probable that regulations dealin" with such cases will be gazetted shortly the case was deferred for a week. Tho gener.l question of tiro exemption of teachers was also deferred.
