Hunfcervillo, Dear Madam, ‘ December Ist, 1917. A year ago to-day, I took over Hie business known as the “White Elephant,” and have been more than pleased with the results. I thank yon most sincerely for your assistance, and desire respectfully to solicit a continuance of your support, assuring you always of my best attention. During this month, I shall make a few special cuts as under: — A line of Ladies Panama Hats which I imported direct from Japan. They arrived two months too late, and I have marked them at a very low price to make a speedy clearance. They are worth 17/6, but as Miss Ait-ken has marked them ' 11/6, they should be all gone by Xmas. Miss Aitken also has a very nice line of coloured TageTs—only a few trimmed ribbon and flowers—to clear at 12/6. These are exceptional value, and as there are only about a dozen, you will need to see them soon, as they will be sold: One dozen only Girl’s Panama Hats, trimmed bow of ribbon, 7/6; a splendid line well worth 11/6; suitable for girls from 7to 12 years. About one dozen very fine Tussore Silk Magyar Frocks—size 2-lin only—slightly damaged by water. These were 7/G each; to clear at 4/11 each. About six beautiful White embroidered Voile Dresses, slightly shop soiled, worth from 45/- to 59/6. All one price 29/6. A special discount of 100/o o ffi all Navy and Gaberdine Costumes, about 24 to select from. Also a very fine line of Cream Garbccord Skirts 17/6 and 22/6; these are wonderful value. A splendid line of Black Hose women’s and O.S.— worth 1/6 pair-this month only 1/- to clear. Six only Navy and Black Crepe-dc-chene Blouses .17/6 to 24/6; Xmas price 12/6. Just a very few smart French Foulard one piece dresses, 45/-; Special pi’ice 32/6; these are highly mercerised, and have all the appearance of nice silk. I have also opened up a very extensive range of Gent’s I White and Tussore Silk Neglige and Tennis Shirts, Panama Hats, Mitchell slide-easy Tics and President Braces in presentation boxes. Again thanking you for past favours and iujmticipation of a Continuance of you support. Wishing you all the compliments of the season.
