If (he reception accorded Mr Hughes •on his arrival in Sydney is any criterion of the referendum fooling, the Government supporters must have felt highly gratilied. Thousands of returned soldiers met Mr Hugh.es at the station, carried him shoulder high, and rnade a remarkable demonstration through the crowded streets. The speeches v.vre wildly cheered. It is probably the greatest reception Mr Hughes h is over had.
