ACCIDENT AT FEILDING.

This morning at Feilidng Mr Harry Hughes, the well-knwon aged half-caste, was knocked down and run ovor'by a car’driveu by .Mr Win. Rowe, of Rongotea. Mr Rowe stated that when driving down Manchester Street he intended to turn to the left into Ferguson Street, but being barred by a twohorse waggon which was on the wrong side, he was compelled to make a sharp turn to the right. Hughes who, at the time, was crossing the junction of the streets, had apparently not heard the warning given by the horn, and was run over . He is so badly injured that there is little hope of recovery.
