SOCIAL HYGIENE BILL.
WOMEN'S SOCIETIES PROTEST.

Wellington, Oct. 13,
A deputation representing women’s societies waited on the Hon. Mr Russell, Minister of Health, to present resolutions passed at a meeting of women protesting -against the provisions of the Social Hygiene Bill and against passing tho measure this session. The Minister siad he intended to get the Bill on the Statute Book this session. Ho -was willing to alter tho term “prison hospitals” in the Bill to “detention hospitals. ” He said it was proposed to establish two hospitals in each island, one for men and one for women. In each case he would also give an opportunity for inmates to'do the work while undergoing detention.
