RANGITIKEI PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The monthly mealing of the Rangitikei Patriotic Society, was held on Thursday, Mr B. P Lethbridge presiding. The Hamilton Patriotic Society wrote regretting they were unable to help a xeturnr-d tnaa in the manner suggested by this Society. Dr Valmtine, Inspector of Military Hospital. wrote asking that soldiers discharged from hospitals and convaJescms might bo mat and forwarded, etc., on information being forwarded from any nndical officer in charge of such institution. If was docided that this Society would Willingly undertaka any such doty. Ir was decided to write to the station master asking h>m to lef the Society know when t:cop trains were parsing through. Mr B. Ni»wmau wrote stating,that the Minister was Lilly in >caord with remits forwarded by this Society. Mr J. W.. Marshall forwarded cinque for £6O tor T. Vi C, A., Red Cross?a.i Salvation Army Fuad. Two returned man appsaiod for help to pay instalments on milking machine. It was resolved that t :ey hist aproach tbs vendors offering same terms a a offered to Society. Tiie secretary was instructed to write to Crown Gommissioirer of Lands ra-payingact |paa?ed fay ringfr for wire etc. .The toll owing accounts wero passed for payment:—£2 14a 9d for entertainment ok soldiers passing through, £2O Y. M.C A t; Reel Cress £2O, and Salvation Army Fund £2O.
