NOTICE is hereby, given that the Finance Act, 1917, extends the special exemption of £515 in respect of each of a taxpayer’s children. Previously this exemption was allowed (1) in respect of not more than five children of a taxpayer, and (2) only when the combined income of the father and mother of the children did not exceed £425. These two limitations are now removed. Under the above Act a claim may be made in respect of each child dependent on the taxpayer and under the age of sixteen, and by any taxpayer irrespec tive o his income.
