It is considered that owing to the Americans’ attitude toward the alliances, Mr Balfour will handle tiie • delicate subject diplomatically. His mission is the beginning of a series of conferences among the Allies. Borne newspapers suggest the conference may discuss the question of America agreeing not to make a separate peace.
