The Admiralty reporls: Arrivals for the week were 2406 and sailings 2367. Seventeen vessels over “ 1600 tons were sunk, also two under 1600 tons. Fourteen vessels were unsuccessfully attacked. Six fishing vessels were sunk.

An Italian naval communique shows *hat during the week live taiian steamers under 3000 tons and Hen sailers under 300 tons were sunk.

NORWEGIANS IN EXILE

Copenhagen, April 11

The Government has asked Germany for safe conduct from England of a thousand Norwegian mariners whose ships had been sank by submarines. Germany replied that she wonld only consent on Norway guaranteeing that none of the men would re-enter the danger zone.
