MESOPOTAMIAN OPERATIONS.
TROOPS REACH THE TIGRIS. NOW NEARING KUT’ (Australian and New Zealand Cable Association.) Received Deo. 27, 2.15 p.m. London, Dec. 26. A Mesopotamian official report states that a British detachment advanced to the right bank of the Tigris and consolidated positions south and east of Knt. Cavalry destroyed Gassars Fort, which was the base of hostile Arabs.
