WHAKAPUAKA CABLE STATION.

Per Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 31. The transference of the Eastern Extension Company’s cable office from Wbakapuaka to Wellington js not likely to take place so soon as anticipated. Some 150 miles of new cable is.required and this will not reach Wellington before the end of January. At the earliest the repairing steamer Patrol will not be available much before March, and . will then have a large amount of work to do before the cable can he linked up to Titahi Bay. Meanwhile construction trenches to carry the shore end from that hay to Wellington and preparation offices here will be pushed on to have everything in readiness for the final move.
