At Addington market to-day there weie average entries of stock. There wan practically no’ change in fat cattle. Stove sheep, of which Hie bulk were wethers, sold well. Fat lambs were entered in smaller numbers, and there was a sharp rise in prices. Fat sheep were firm. Store cattle sold well, and there was an advance in pigs, stores especially, weauers selling at record prices. Store sheep: Mixed sexes hoggets 25s 2d ,to 3Ss scl, two-tooth shorn wethers' 22s 4d, four-tooth wethers 295, four and six-tooth wethers 34s Id, two aud four-tooth wethers 14s Id, four, six and eight-tooth free ewes 20s 9rl to 24s Id, fat lambs best 28s to 335, lighter 33s to 2Gs Gd, extra prime wetheis “to (50s. prime wethers ,31s to 435, others 24s 9d to 30s, shorn wethers 34s Id to 33s Gs, merino wethers 18s Gd to 27s 11 d, prime ewes|3ls to 39s Grl, others 3Gs 3d to 30s, shorn ewes 26s Gd to 39s 6d, boggels 39s io 325. Fat cattle: Extra prime steers to £33 10s, prime steers £lO to £2O 15s, ordinary steers £9 10s to £l4 10s, extra prime heifers £l7, prime heifers £l3 to £l4, ordinary heifers £8 to £ll lO.s, extra prime cows £l7 13s Gd, prime cows £lO to £l4, ordinary cows £7 Gs to £9 10s. BURNSIDE MARKET. - Dunedin. Oct. 18. At Burnside to-dav 177 fat cattle were penned, including a number of extra prime bullocks. Prices were slightly easier. Extra jirimo bullocks £ls4 ss, best £7 10s to £2O, medium £l4 10s to £l6, light £l3 to £l4, prime heifers £l3 10s to £ls, light aud nutinisbed £9 to £ll. Fat sheep, 3857 penned. Owing to the small entry prices for prime advanced 2s to 2s 6d, and medium weight Is to is Gd, Extra prime wetheis 48s !)d, best 3Gs to 39s Gd, medium to good 33s to 355, light and unfinished a9s 6d to 31s, extra prime ewes 41s Gd, best 33s to 38s, lighter 25s to 30s. SOUTHERN MARKETS. ■ Chr'«fchurch, Oct. 17. There are no changes to report in the grain market, there being but little business doing in wheat, and although there is enquiry tor oats they are very scarce. The potato market is firmer in consequence of the shortage of supplies. The local price of potatoes is now £7 5s to £7 10s at country stations.
