TARANAKI IRON ORE SMELTING COMPANY.
Per Press Association. New Plymouth,,Oct, IS. At a statutory meeting of the Iron Ore Smelting Company, the Chairman announced that the erection of the works bad commenced. The machinery- had been ordered and it is expected that the first furnace with a capacity of seventy tons weekly will be (canning at the end of February. The required capital has baen secured and the shave list closed almost at once. The following directors were elected:—Messrs Payne (chairman), Fraser (Auckland), -Rutherford (Culverdeu), Lauranson (Christchurch), J. A. Haskett, W. H. Moyas, W. J. Penn. , R.;j. Deare and Jenkins.
