Mr Sam Daw, the well-known coach proprietor of Feilding, died at the Palmerston North Hospital on Friday. He had undergone an operation which does not appear to have been successful. Mr Daw was the founder of the Feilding Brass Band in the early days of the settlement, and he laboured earnestly many years teachingg learners. He had been a soldier in India before he came to this country. He was never married.
