WOOL, SKIN AND HIDES SALES.
Murray, Roberts and Co r , report; We offered a catalogue of 4800 sheepskins, 1100 hides and calfskins and oddments of tallow at Friday’s sale. Home of the usual buyers who attend our sales were not represented probably owing to the wool sale at Auckland. Prices for sheepskins were on the whole to per lb lower than last sale. Hides were hardly so high in the heavy sorts as recently, being per lb on the average lower. Light weight hides, however, fairly maintained the level of last sale. Tallow showed an advance of £1 per ton. The following is range of current prices;— Sheepskins.—Halfbred lid to per lb, fine crossbred H%d to ll%d, crossbred medium coarse to ll%d, short to half wools to dead and damaged crossbred 7d to 9%d, inferior and badly damaged Id to 7d, lambs 7d to damp salted and green 4s 3d to 10s lOd each, pelts Is 9d to 2s 9d each,. Hides.—-Ox, heavy 10%d per lb, medium 10%d, light lOd ; cow heavy B%d to 9)4 d, medium B)4d to 9d, light B)kd to B)4d, cut, slippy and inferior' 3d to Bd, bull stag 6d to 714 d. yearling 6d to 7%d, calf superior 9)4d to medium to good 8d to 9%d, damaged 2d to Bd. Tallow.—ln casks 2Cs Gd to 28s 6d per cwt, in tins 22s to 25s 3d. The date of our next sale will be 17th December. /
