MESOPOTAMIAN FRONT.
THE TURKS REINFORCED.
London, Nov. 30,
The Press Bureau states that four divisions of Turks participated in the battle of Olesiphon. Prisoners state that one division was practically wiped out. British observations confirm this. The Turks have since been reinforced.
General Townshend successfully completed the removal of the wounded, and the prisoners were withdrawn to a force lower down the river.
BRIBING THE ARABS.
GERMAN AT'TEMP'S FAILS.
Paris. Nov. 30'
The Echo de Paris states that the Young Turks and Germans made great efforts to induce the Arabs to declare a holy war against tlie British when nearirg Bagdad. High officials tried to bribe the chiefs with precious stones and money. The chiefs and sheikhs were not responsible as they consider the Young Turks and Germans are not qualified to preach an Islamic holy war.
