The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., report as follows: —At Feilding on Friday wo held a supplementary cattle fair, when we yarded 1050 head of cattle in addition to a moderate entry of sheep. The demand for sheep was not keen, and we failed to quit some of onr lines. There was a good attendance at the cattle sale, mostly local districts, comparatively few outside buyers being present. Buyers were inclined to be Cautious, and the sale dragged somewhat at the beginning, but improved as it went on, and although several lines were passed at auctiouXmost of these were placed privately, and at the end of the day only live pens of young cattle went out unsold. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report holding a supplementary cattle fair at Feildiug on Friday, 26th inst., when the yarding comprised 683 head cattle, chiefly grown sorts, and practically the whole entry changed hands. A small yarding of sheep met a very fair sale, and prices for the day are as follows:—Sheep; Small 4 and Gtfa ewes 17s Gl, 3th wethers 18s.lid, 3 and 4th wethers 19s 4d, fat ewes 32s to 345, fat wethers to 25s 4d. Cattle: Bad coloured yearling steers 395, yearling heifers £2 2s to £3 9s, small yearling steers £3 17s to £3 3s 63, 3yr heifers £3 10s, Syr Foiled Angus heifers £5 15s 6d. SHEEPSKIN, HIDE, WOOL AND TALLOW SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. report:—The fortnightly sale w T as held at Wellington on Friday, w'hen scarcely the usual number of buyers attended. There was a good demand for skins and hides 'but at a lower range of prices than ruled last sale. Skins and hides were from to dow T n. Bags and odd packages of wool sold readily at market rates. Tallow and fat sold at Is to 3s per cwt'advance on late rates. The following range of prices was obtained: Sheepskins.—Halfbred lid to 11//,d, fine crossbed 11 yA to li%d, medium coarse crossbred 1034 d to ll%d, short to half w T ools 534 dto dead and damaged cosshred 7d to 9%d, interior and damaged Id to 7d, lambs 7d to damp salted and green 4s 3d to 10s lOd, pelts Is 9d to 3s 9d. Hides. l —Ox, heavy OOlbs up 10%d, medium 10%d, light 10d, cow heavy 551bs and over to medium 43 to 541bs to 9d light under 43Ibs to B%d, cut, slippy and inferior 3d to Bd, bull stag (id to 7d, yearlings 1G to 241bs 6d to 7%d, calf superior up to IGlhs 93;{d to calf medium good 9d to 9%'d. damaged 2d to Bd.
