THE GERMAN FA LUSE. PREP/ R-- FOR 1 HE SPRING. London, Feb 12. The l imes’ rail tir.v cnrresp moenf, reviewing the severe fighting in tbe eastern theatre, considers that the whole of the German operations nave failed, because they were planned without proper regard for the strength of the respective forces, the season, and the ground. The failure will make the western offensive more difficult owing to the loss of men, prestige and the inability to withdraw men from the east to the west. The Germans are terribly anxious about the spring campaign, and it is therefore necessary for the Allies to prepare for the enemy’s fnrious attempts to forestall the offensive British and reach Paris. » BONUS FOR IMPOSSIBILITY. London, Feb. 12. Tbe Dacia has sailed from America for Rotterdam. The captain states that the owner has promised a big bonus if the vessel returns safely. The Dacia is carrying food to Germany and will be arrested by Britain. FRENCH SUCCESS IN THE VOSGES. The High Commissioner reports as follows: London, Feb. 12. Paris reports that in the Vosges district south of Chatean-de-Lusse, the French occupied an enemy trench by an unexpected attack. There are lively artillery battles in several’ parts of the front.
