RIFLE SHOOTING.

The annual shooting competition for secondary schools cf the Dominion concluded yesterday. The conditions were greatly altered this year, the Bisley regulations giving way to snap shooting, five shots with target exposed for 4seos. at 200 yards; rapid firing, ten rounds in one minute at 300 yards, and five rounds deliberate at 500 yards. No slings or orthoptics were allowed. Schools were divided into grades, A Grade with attendance 200 and over B Grade with attendance between 100 and 200, and C Grade with attendance less than 100. Only six teams competed for A Grade, and one for B Grade. Results: —A Grade: Waitaki, 454 points, 1; Wellington College, 420 points, 2; Nelson College, 374, points 3; New Plymouth, 363 points ; Otago, 330 points; Wanganui, 265 points. B Grade: Palmerston North, 257 points. The highest individual scorers were ; Lance-Carpi. Rayward, Wellington, 68, and Sergt. Sutherland, New Plymouth, 63. KANGITIKEI DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. Tho Ranigtikei Defence Rifle Club held their usual weekly shoot on the range at Bulls yesterday. The weather conditions were favourable; a very tricky wind blowing.
