Under the auspices of the Marton Farmers’ Union. To be held on Mr R. E. Beckett’s property, "Wanganui Road, close to Marion. on WEDNESDAY, 22nd JULY, 1914. Over £6O in prizes. PRIZE LIST. Trophy for second horse presented by Mr Bill. To start at 1.30 p.m. 2. LIGHT WEIGHTS, list 7lb~ For a trophy valued at about £3 3s. presented by Mr W J Simp son. Trophy for second horse presented by Mr J H McLean. Both above races are open to qualified hunters, the bona fide property of Members of the Raugitikei Hunt, and which have not been nominated for any public money during the last twelve mouths (hack and hunter races excepted) or won any open races within the last four years. Distance, about 3 miles. To start at 2 p.m. 3. A STEEPLECHASE for trophy valued at about £3 3s, presented by Mr J G Wilson. Trophy for second horse presented by Mr J D Smith. For horses belonging to members which have never won a race of any description nor been nominated within 12 mouths for any race other than a Point-to-Point. Minimum weight 12st 71b. Owners up. Distance about 2 miles To start at 3.30 p.m. Entrance 10s for each of the above events. All riders for events 1,2 a”d 3 must be members of the Rangitikei Hunt, • and eligible for election as gentlemen riders, and must ride in colours, and the certificates must be produced at the scales Certificates must be either gentleman rider’s license or emergency certificates.
