Mrs .Pankhurst "appeared at St. Andrews Hall, Glasgow, and had spoken only two minutes when constables rushed in. Several women armed with truncheons closed ronnd Mrs Pankhurst and prepared to defend her. The police, drew their batons and charged the platform. Amidst a wild struggle revolvers were firea from the platform and miniature and bombs exploded. A number of women and police were injured, Mrs Pankhurst was arrested.
