Per Press Association. Dunedin, March 1. Mrs Dooley, a resident of St. Kilda, fell in Princess Street yesterday, as the result of a collision with a drunken mao, and struck her head on the pavement. She appeared to be none the worse for the mishap and went shopping. An hour later she complained of pains in the head and was taken to t'm hospital, where paralysis set in, the woman dying at 9 o’clock last nigte. Ellen Mary Ross, 5 years of age, was drowned at Puketeraki yesterday. Tha parents reside in Dunedin. Auckland, March 1. A young man named Leslie Mills was admitted to the hospital on Sat urrlay suffering from serious injuries c ;nsad by a gunshot. It is stated that the young man was in a shed at the hack of a house in Park Avenue. The sound of a shot startled some residents, and Mills was found bleeding profusely. He was taken to the Hospital. Mills is a ship’s stew ard/ 18 years of age. Invercargill, March 1. A woman named Adamson, residing at Ciiftou, died suddenly yesterday. The circumstances point to poisoning. Gisborne, March 1. A young Maori named Pomare was bathing in the Ofcoko stream last evening and essayed to dive in what appeared to be a suitable depth of water, but struck a rock. The unfortunate mac was brought into town this morning and taken to the hospital, aafferi.g inwardly. Hi o condiiion is extremely critical. Wellington, February 27. The body of a young man, be iieved to be named Raveli, aged about 24 was found on the roadside between Petone and Ngahauranga tliis evening. He apparently was riding his motor cycle and ran into a dray standing beside the track. The body was brought into town to await definite identification. At the Inquest evidence showed that a dray had been driven unlighted by Thomas Sheehan. The motorist evidently struck one shaft, which was broken off and bloodstained. The horse was also cut about The coroner returned a verdict that Hevell died from injuries accidentally received through collision between his motor cycle and a dray. Subsequently Sheehan was charged with being drunk while in charge of a dray, also with falling to have a light on the vehicle; aud further that on February 27th he had been guilty of an omission resulting in the death of Kevell. Sheehan was remanded till Wednesday.
