PALMERSTON NORTH WOOLS, SKIN AND HIDE SALE,

Abraham and Williams Ltd. report We held oar sale on Friday, February 2i‘th, and as this sale was six weeks since the last one we bad a large catalogue to offer. There were 800 bales aud bags of wool. 1700 sheepskins, 650 calfskins and hides and 134 tins of tallow as well as the usual sundries. Buyers were well represented and bidding throughout was most spirited. We sold nearly every line under the hammer and no doubt passed in lots will be sold in due course. We quote:—Wool.—Southdown lOd to XB. fine, 9>£cl, XB medium 7%d to XB and Jambs 4d to 9d, bellies and pieces 3d, XB bellies,and pieces 5%d to 7d, pieces 4%ci to lambs C%d to 9%d, dead scl to locks and pieces sd, black 7d, crutchings 6d. Sheep skins. —XB fine 8d to XB medium 6d to XB faulty 4% to 6%d, dead woolled 4£(d, damaged pelts batchers skins at per piece XB 3s 6d to 3s 10d, lambs 2a 8d to 4s lOd, pslta Is to 3s lid, salted Is 3d to 4s, salted wools 3a sd, salted wools 3s 9d. Calf skins;. —Sound calf 7d to cut and slippy 6d to yearlings B%d to cut and slippy 5%d to 7d. Hides. —Os B%d to 9d per lb, cows 8d to B%d, cows out and slippery 6%d to 7%d, heifers and steers B%d, bulls 6%d, horse hides 4? to 9a each. Tallow.—Casks £26 10s per ton, tins £24 10a per ton, rough fat 12s per cwt. “ Horse hair 3d to Is per lb, cow hair cow tails washed, per dozen Is Bd, unwashed Is 7d, Our net sale will be held on the 27th March, 1914.

Messrs Abraham and Willliams, Ltd., report having a heavy yarding of all classes of sheep at their annual Feilding Sheep Fair. There was a very large attendance of buyers and bidding was extremely brisk. We practically sold the whole entry under the hammer. We quote:—4 and Syr ewes 13a 7d to IGs 4d, Gth and 4yr' ewes 17s Gd to 18s, cull ewes Bs, 2th ewes 17s 7d, rape lambs 10s lod, medium Jambs 9s 3d to 9s 6d, cull lambs 7s. Unfortunately 2000 of our entry failed to put in an appearance.
