OIL IN NEW GUINEA.

GREAT INTEREST IN DISCOVERY.

Id the Budget Committee of the Reichstag it way stated that the Government raining expert had reported the discovery of oil in northwest German New Guinea. The committee voted £25,000 to cover nreliminary work.

Th.e oil is similar to that found in the Dutch Indies. German naval authorities are deeply interested in the discovery. Four large Companies are applying for liberty to exploit the oil field, including monopolies of land and telegraphs and exemption of taxes for fifteen years.
