FIRE IN CHRISTCHURCH.

Christchurch, February 26,
Hunsley’s timber yard in the city, and also a two store building ocon pied by Wilkins Bros, cabinet makers, were destroyed by fire early this morning. A heavy southerly gale was blowing when the outbreak was discovered and the bre spread rapidly. Hunsiey’s property was uninsured. Wilkins Bros bad their’s insured for £l5O in the Phoenix. The damage amounted to £3OO. Rankin Bro*. and Keighley lost some timber, and J. D. Brown had a quantity of timber badly damaged. Hunsleys’ loss is heavy.
