RANGITIKEI A. & P. SHOW.

The Association was most unfortunate in weather conditions for its third annual Show yesterday, which was held on the Domain at Taihape. The attendance was not as large as on previous occasions, and there was also a lack of competition in the stock classes. The horse and pony competitions attracted a large number of entries, and there is no doubt that the jumping competitions'form the chief “draw” at A. and P. Shows. SHEEP. In Lincolns Jam-a Wilson (Marton) secured four firsts, five seconds and a third, D. G. Forlong and G. Brown a first each. Mr James Wilson won Mr Doole’s trophy £3 3s, and Mr D. G. Fotloog wins Mr D. Wilkie’s trophy £2 3s for champion ram J. Webb was the only competitor in English Leioesters Competition was very strong in Romneys, and R, Tanner and A. R. Fannin secured most of the prizes. D. H. Kilgour, J. Bartosh and L. Pleasants also secured prizes. G. H. Brown was the only exhibitor in Border Leioesters, and awarded two firsts and a second. FAT SHEEP. W. Reid and Son were first in five wethers, Down crosses, first and second in five wethers, 21 months and over, suitable-for freezing, and first and second in five fat ewes, heaviest weights, second in five maiden ewes, and third in five wethers, long wool. J. Webb secured first and second in five wethers, long wool, first and third in five maiden ewes, and second and third in five wethers, Down crosses. D. Scott first in five ewes, long wool, M. Morrison second and third. FAT LAMBS. W. Reid and Son secured first in five fat lamb?, Down crosses, and first in five fat lambs, long wool crosses. R. Wilkie was first in five fat lambs heaviest weights, and second in five fat lambs, long-wool crosses. FARMERS’ CLASSES. J, Bartosh ‘‘scooped the pool” in this class, winning five firsts and a second, and R. Wilkie three seconds. L. Pleasants was first in three Romney ewe lambs in wool, and J. Webb first in three English-Lefcester ewe lambs. J. Bartosh wins Mr Z. J. Davis’ special of £5 os for most points in this class. P. Reid was first and third in pet lamb, Mrs R. Wilkie second. HORSES. There were only four competitors. In the public schools section Torero School was awarded first prize lor best collection of vegetables, and Taihape first for collection of farm and garden roots. In vegetables competition was confined to a few exhibitors, W. J. Forster faking most of the prizes. Taihape School was awarded a first for six carrots. The Home Industries section was the best show of exhibits on the ground, and competition was keen in all classes Mrs A. Train was awarded first for six scones, there being eighteen entries, and first in six bottles preserved fruit. Mrs J. E. Tburstou was successful in several classes. Mi.a Addis, Misses P. and J. Smith, Mrs S. Forster, Mrs J. A. Anderson, and Mrs A. Clinton were also among the prize-winners. Miss D. Addis was awarded first for hand bouquet prepared by school children.

Mrs S. Fester wins McLaughlin Bros.’ silver cop for most points in Home Industries.

A sale on account of W. J. Birch, Esq., Thoresby, Marton, of his stud flock of Romney sheep was held on the Show grounds by Messrs Abraham and Williams and Dalgety and Co.
