An open fours competition, under the auspices of the Auckland centre of the Dominion Bowling Association, started this morning in eight sections on as many greens. Eightyfour teams, representing clubs from Dargaville in the North to Kaitangata sn the South, participated in what promises to be an eminently successful gathering. The position of the West Coast teams at the end of the day’s play was as follows Nash, Palmerston North, 3 wins, 1 loss; Carman. Eltham, 1 win, 2 losses; Sutcliffe, Marion, 2 wins, 1 loss; Lomax, St. John’s, Wanganui, 1 win, 2 losses; H. Morrison, Stratford, y wins, 0 losses.
