An adjournment for 14 days was granted. After hearing the medical evidence Mr Fraser, S.M., dismissed the charge of manslaughter against Robt. Mitchell, ex-licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, Auckland, arising out of the death of a boarder named Slirapson, who, it was alleged, had not received proper attention after falling downstairs in the hotel and sustaining injuries causing his death. The. evidence showed that the injuries were such that death was inevitable. The Supreme Court at Auckland concluded the hearing of the Onehunga cases arising ont of frands on the Union Company involving a substantial sum by means of fictitious pay sheets. William Saunders, William Owens, and Richard Tyreli were charged with conspiracy in falsification and- forgery. Saunders was sentenced to three years and Owens and- Tyreli to one year.
