THE MARKETS.
WOOL, SHEEPSKINS AND TALLOW SALE. Murray, Roberta and Co., Ltd., report:—We held our usual fort" nightly sale on Friday,'and offered a catalogue of 35 packages of wool, 9150 sheepskins and 550 hides, as well as oddments of tallow, rabbit skins, etc. The attendance of buyers was larger than usual, and bidding was spirited for all lots offered. On account, no doubt, of our large offering of sheepskins, there being several lots containing over 700 skins in' each, we can quote prices for medium lots par to above last sale. Damp and salted sold exceedingly well, owing, as stated above, to the large lines offering in cur catalogue. Hides sold up to last sale's quotations, except stout heavy ox which were a trifle easier in tone. We quote prices as below: — Wool: Crossbred fleece to 9%d, lambs 9%d to 10^d ; pieces and dead (bags) 4%d to 7%d, Sheepskins: Crossbred medium to fine BJ*Td to 8 :j :(d, coarse to medium 8d to Sikjd, quarter to half' wools 7d to Bd, do. inferior 5%d to 7d, do. dead and damaged 4d to 7d, lambs medium to good Sd to 8 ; I ..<d, do short and seedy G%d to Bd, pelts seconds 4d to 6d, crossbred damp 03 Gd to 7s 4d, do. salted 3s 7d to 7s Gd, lambs salted Us to '6b Gd. Hides: Ox stout l%a to B%d, medium to Bcl, light 7d to Bd, cow good 7d ~to 7%'d, medium 7d to damaged and inferior 4d to 7d. "Calfskins medium to good lOd to n?;jd, inferior 5d to 7d. 'Rabbitskins'j;is to Is O}o. Tallow: In casks 28s to 28s 6d per csvfc. ; iu tins 22s to 84s Gd. FEILDING MARKET REPORT. A. H. Atkinson and Co., Ltd., report a small yarding of pig 3 at Friday's market with keen inquiry for porkers and baconers. Ail poultry sold well with uniimit3d inquiry for young ducks aud turkeys and well-grown cockerels. Potatoes were easier and are selling from Is to 2s per bag under lata rates, We quote:-—Weaner pigs 8s Gd to Us Gd, slips 9s Gd to 12s, stores lis to los, porkers 41s, 18-months gelding ■£'■'>, phaeton £JO. Poultry per pair: Hens 2s Mto 4s, cockerels lis (id to 4s Gd, purebred Bs, small drakes os Gd to os 9d, turkey 12s, gobblers IGs. Table potatoes 8s to !)s sack, pig b's to Os Gd, pollard lis Gd to 12s, bran Gs, wheat 4s Gd bushel, pig meal lis, chaff 4s, onions 10s to 12s cwt, apples 2s Gd to 8s half case, pears 2s 9d, cauliliowerSflSs to 9s bag, cabbages Gs to 7s, pumpkins Bs.
