ASSESSMENT COURT.
FRIDAY’S SITTING. j The Court resumed at Marion at i 10 o’clock on Friday morning. • Mrs Goodrum’s objection against } the valuations imposed on sections I bordering on Cubbabbala, Stewart and Blackwell streets was heard. The Court sustained the valuations ; >'n seven sections at £SO, four were ffiuced from £SO to £45, one from i £SO to £4O, two from £SO to £25, .and one from £6O to £SO Mrs Dommett’s objection against the valuation of two sections in Wellington Road was upheld, and the valuation reduced from £IOO to £BO each. A. Hawlm’s sections in Wellington Road were reduced from £IS)S to £165, and from £133 to £lls. Mrs Lyon’s property in High Street was reduced from £528 to £350, and sections in Grey Street from £6O to £45, £6O to £35, and £IOO to £SO. Improvements on the property in Pukepapa Line were reduced from £4lO to £350. Davenport Bros.’ objection to the valuation of their business property in Broadway and High Str - c was not sustained, and the valuator’s assessment of 78 feet at £35 per foot in Broadway and 54 feat at £lO per foot in High Street stands. The Borough’s objection to this valuation, which they considered too low, was thrown out on a technical point. As there are twenty-six other objections to consider, the Bench decided to adjourn the Court till 10 o’clock on ’Friday, 13th June. Th 9 Borough withdrew a number of eases in which is was considered that the valuation was too low. Most of tbs properties objected to were on the basiuofes side of Broadway.
