The following remit by Makuri branch was lose:—That in granting tiic fee simple to all ' Crown lands tauants ,;!ie most stringent conditions be imposed so as to make isaggregatiou impossible. Remits were carried asking Government to remove the preferential rates on hardwocd timber and imported ooal carried on the railways ; that Government be requested to provide greater facilities for loadnig stock and delivery of goods at dag stations; that signals or other means of warning be provided at dangerous railway crossings; and that, plantations near crossings be kept "down so that trains may bs> seen.
