Mr ! for the union, opposed the appuca- '* tion lor certain exemptions and contended that as the agreement was reached on January 14th, two days ■prior to the last sitting of the Court, the award be made retrospective. Decision was deferred. In the operative tailors’ shop and tailoresses’ dispute an objection | was raised to the citation ot retail ! drapers, on the ground that they were not employers. The union t applied to have the award dated I from March Ist, contending that as I ati retailers were cited before the I Commissioner the objection came I too late. Adjourned for a week to ! enable the parties to agree to a I limitation of the radius around f Dunedin. The metal Workers’assistants ap- ' plied to have the Commissioner’s f recommendations embodied in the award. The employers take exception to the clause affecting the exist- | ing contracts.
