ANGLICAN CHURCH, BULLS.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of parishioners took place on Wednesday, April 16th, in the church schoolroom, the vicar, the Rev. John E. Blackburne, presiding. There was a fair attendance, including abont a dozen ladies. The report and balance sheet presented by the vestry showed a satisfactory year, the receipts amounting to £35 more than last year. Amongst items of extraordinary expenditure were £ls vicarage repairs, and £3l for painting the church. The vicar presented a Report on the Sunday School and Church work of the district, in which he referred to an increase in attendanae at the Sunday School, and also at the church morning service. He was very pleased with this, and gratified also at a larger Communion roll. Mr Blackburne appealed to pariahioneora to assist the clmrchworkers, by lightening or removing any anxiety in the matter of finance. He himself was very grateful for the support the vestry and churchwardens had given, and he wished to thank Miss Jean Wilson and Miss Blanche Clark as honorary organists and Mr B. A. Wilson and Mr A. H. Bill as lay-readers. He also desired to express his appreciation of the ready help Miss Jean Wilson had given as superintendent of the Snnday School. More Sunday School teachers were now required to assist Mrs and Miss Blackburne. The resignation of Mr W. B. Clark as collector and treasurer of the general church fund was received with much regret, and he was thanked for his past work. The appointment of a successor was left to the incoming vestry. The following office bearers were elected: —Vicar's Churchwarden, Mr E. H. Levett; Parishioners Churchwarden, Mr Wm, McNichle; Vestrymen, Messrs F. J. Mansell, K. W. Dalrymple, W. Homes, E. M. Broughton, F. H. Watson, R. A. Wilson, W. B. Clark, C. Scales and H. A, Goodall. A vote of appreciation was passed to Mr T. King for past services as auditor, and he was reappointed. On the motion of Mr Levett, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the lady collectors —Misses Scales and Homes, and Mrs Joseph Ellery, also to the church organists, Sunday School teachers and lay readers. Mr Dalrymple announced that abont £25 had been collected in and around Parewanui for the new vicarage, with a promise of as muck more. It was also stated that Sanson had raised £6O during the year towards the new vicarage. The Bulls’ lists had not come in, and the vestry in the meantime voted £25 to the scheme.
