FINAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR TO-MORROW'S EVENT.

A LARGE AND ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING.

A largely attended and enthusiastic general meeting of the above was held last night, Mr W. J. Birch presiding. The committee are leaving no stone unturned to make the initial show to-morrow a big success. The several committees have been energetically working for the last few weeks and their reports at the meeting were all highly satisfactory and went to show that the smallest details had been attended to, and their thought!'ulness no doubt will be appreciated by the many exhibitors and the general public. The work in connection with the cattle and Gheep pens has been well advanced and to-night should see the lot erected. To-day the several committeemen were busy allotting space to the exhibitors of machinery, etc.

For the convenience of motorists it was decided that they enter the ground by the gate at the end of the avenue (Station end), turn to the left and leave their cars or motor cycles on the course. The track and entrance were put in order this morning. The Ground Committee have also made arrangements for horseowners and owners of vehicles. Finger posts are to be painted aim erected to direct owners. Keros.me tins cut in half have been provided for water for the sheep and a trough also has been erected and these wTI 1 be well attended to.

The competitions committee are to be congratulated on their splendid arrangements in connection with the jumping events. Tiie whole course is right in front and near the grandstand and the jumps are in the following order:—Hurdle, hencoop, brush, heucoop, then a turn back to a wiivj fence, followed by another brush and lastly a hurdle. Some well-known prize-winners and performers are competing, and some good jumping should be witnessed. This alone, seeing that residents of Rangitikei, Manawatu and surrounding- districts are such keen sport's, should attract a large attendance. The keen discussion that took place, on all questions shows that the committee have matters at heart, and are making every effort to enaur- a successful function. All that in required'to complete a successful show is a fine day and it is earnestly hoped that the Rev. Bates will 5... a fit to have this provided.

Marton Brass Band and Mar ton Junction Band have generously and voluntarily offered their services, which will add a great deal to the gaiety. The Bands are to be requested to play • alternately and on-. 1 band is also to be asked to be on r.j* .- ground by 11.00 a.m. The ban<>■■' offers were highly appreciates :. the committee.
