Mr Samuels, Post master-General, to the opening oi the draft interim report recommend ing the immediate purchase of site; tor wireless stations for the Imper ial chain, and suggesting that tin Government Department execute tin work, and also recommending tin immediate appointment of a highly qualified technical committee to an vise as to the merits of the varioui systems and any changes necessary in the future. The Hou. Samuel: replied that he would gladly ac on the first recommendation, Ai agreement was contemplated n which the contracting compauit: would bear the,whole risk. No pay ment would be made unless tht stations were in full working order The technical committee proposeought to report within a limiteii time to prevent delays. Mr Samuel added that he bail con High Commissioners. Ht was willing to send a . cummissici co-operating with the Admiralty o select an Egyptian site within tw mouths and thence they would go u East Africa.
