Details of the murder of two brothers named Weber at Rooke Island in German New Guinea two months ago state that Ernest Weber was formerly connected with the German Missionary Society,_ but severed his ;connection and visited Germany, and |returned ai’year ago and with his wife, child and a brother established a trading station on this island. One morning the Islanders lined tup to work and attacked and the brothers aiLd a Chinese overseer. Mrs Weber and’child were absent and escaped. Robbery was the object. The natives looted Weber’s house stores.
