CRICKET.

The first match in the Hawke Cup series will be played at Wanganui on Wednesday and Thursday next between Wanganui and South Taranaki. The team consists of the following:—Orton, Howard, Furrie, Holland, Tilyard, Bathgate, Barrett, Murchie, Salmond, Bernatx and Butterworth. Emergency bowler, Tronson; emergency batsman, Tracy. The match South Auckland against Raugitikei in the first round for the Hawke Cup |has been fixed to be played in Taumarunui on Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th iust. The following members of Martou Club are requested to put in plenty of practice accordingly:—Anderson, Arkwright, Broad (3), Cook, C. B. Fullertou-Smith, • F Halligan, Hawke, J. H. Miles, Marshall, Morgan, Popple, Prehble, A. Signall, Thomas and Waters. If any of the j?above cannot make the trip they are notify F. E. Wilson, hon. secretary Martoa Cricket Club.
