STOCK SALES. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced report;—At Rongotea on Wednesday we had a heavy yarding of cattle, comprising some good fat cows, store cows and young cattle. Several lines of this season’s weaners were penned, making up to 255. There was a good attendance of buyers and bidding was brisk, every penciling freely under" the hammer. With the exception of four head we had a total clearance. Quotations: —Weaners 17s 6d to 255, yearling steers small £2 to £2 14s, yearling steers medium £2 19s, yearling heifers small £2 13s to £8 2s, 18months heifers good £4 4s to £4 12s 6d, 18-months to 2-year heifers £4 Is, heifers in calf £4 to £4 7s 6d, speyed' heifers £4 Bs, forward heifers £4 14s to £5, cows with calves £4 2s to .£4 19s, aged store cows 38s to £2 15s, store cows £2 Is to £3 15s, forward cows £4 to £4 13s, light fat cows £5 7s to £6, heavy fat cows £7 3s to £7 4s, cows in milk £5 2s Cd to £6 10s, springing cows £5 10s to?£6 ss, bulls £3 to £4. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Palmerston North on Thursday sheep came forward, but a very fair yarding of cattle sold at late rates. We quote:—Yearling steers £2 8s to £8 10s, yearling heifers £2 15s to £4, fat cows £4 17s 6d to £5 14s, forward cows £8 10s to £4, store cows £2 10s to, £8 ss, springing heifers £5 to £6 2s 6d, cows and calves £4 2s 6d. At Himatangi on Monday we had a good yarding of cattle, which met with a brisk sale. We quote: Choice Jersey yearling heifers £5 18s, 18months steers £3 4s 6d to £4 3s, yearling steers 355, fat cows £4 14s *6d to £5 12s, store cows £2 11s to £3 18s Cd, springing heifers £5 to £6 6s, springing ccws £9 ss, suckers 14s, porkers 20s. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report on Palmerston North sale: —We had a, fair yarding of cattle which sold as below: —Small mixed 2-tooths 11s Sd, bulls £2 5s to £4, empty cows £3 Is to £4 6s 6d, forward heifers £4 14s, light fat cowsJ|£s Is to £5.115, yearling heifers £2 18s 6d, fat cows £6 2s 6d, Jersey heifers in full profit £9 10s. WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd,, Wellington, have received cabled information from their London office under date 18th inst., as follows: — The list of arrivals for November' series has closed. New arrivals amount to 138,000 bales. 28,00 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, 7000 bales are from old stocks, leaving 97,000 bales available for sale. Loan and Mercantile are in receipt of the following cable advice from their Loudon house:—We think a rise is likely to take place of from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent in the values of merinos . and crossbred wools Trade is good.
